I have played chess a little before. My dad showed me how to play it when I was a kid - i think he was in a chess club at school and I think my grandpa would have been good at chess - he really liked to think about how things work.
I have bought a book about how to play chess and in reading it have realised how little I knew about the game - and thought it was just knowing what moves each piece could do. There seems to be more thought involved and so I am going to follow the book from its very basics. starting over again.
I don't have a chess board - I have been playing on the copy on my computer and I plan to make a board and pieces, but until then I will just make one out of paper. and I could also buy a chess board - I don't think they are expensive.
